The money from our Chapter Events is donated to the Florida State Golf Course Superintendents.
Usually the research funded is done through UF/IFAS.  Most of the projects are co-funded with FTGA
and/or GCSAA.  The FGCSA State Board of Directors are asked to fund many projects each year
and vote on the ones that they feel are most beneficial as well as most needed by the industry in general.
They fund projects that will have the most benefit to Superintendents in Florida first, then outside the state second.

North Florida has  given $20,000 to the state since 2001.  That is second only to South Florida
and the Everglades chapters.  We are currently ranked 4th in the state in total paid members
(Class A, SM, and C).  Here is a list of the current projects being funded and how much they cost, and who’s helping to pay:

Rapid Turf Disease Diagnosis Assistantship         $26,711 (1 year)             FTGA, FGCSA, Seven Rivers

Comparative Maintenance of Paspalum and Bermuda Grass             $40176  (3 years)           FTGA, FGCSA, FSGA, CMAA

The $5000 each year is much needed and greatly appreciated.
